The Senior Mine Planner develops and optimizes long-range and life-of-mine plans to maximize value, efficiency, and safety. This role leads mine design and annual budgeting while aligning plans with business objectives. It requires strong analytical skills, planning software expertise, and the ability to interpret complex data. Working with operations, geology, and finance, the planner ensures plans are practical and cost-effective. The role suits an experienced professional who can clearly communicate strategic insights.

Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain long-range and life-of-mine (LOM) plans, including pit designs, sequencing, and scheduling
- Prepare and manage annual mine plans and budgets in alignment with corporate targets
- Optimize mine designs to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and maximize resource recovery
- Analyze large datasets to support planning decisions and identify improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, geology, finance) to ensure integrated planning outcomes
- Produce detailed reports, presentations, and technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company policies in all planning activities
- Utilize mine planning software (e.g., Vulcan, MinePlan) to create accurate and efficient designs
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis and benchmarking
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mine planning, with exposure to long-range and life-of-mine planning
- Proficiency in CAD-based mine planning software (Vulcan preferred; MinePlan or similar acceptable)
- Strong experience with budgeting and financial evaluation related to mine planning
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas effectively
- Experience working with large datasets and data analysis tools is considered an asset
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Trimble systems, and fleet management systems is an advantage
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment

- Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking on uneven surfaces, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in all kinds of weather.
- Able to operate a telephone and mine phone/radio with sufficient voice and hearing to carry on a conversation for the purpose of communicating information.
- Able to hear sufficiently to distinguish various pitches of warning alarms.
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds periodically
